Duane R. Breitling, Retired

“I knew from my early teens that I wanted to become an attorney. I wanted to be able to provide legal services to deserving people in their desire to seek justice. I never wavered from this conviction. I have been blessed with not only becoming an attorney but also by being able to represent deserving clients.”

“Since coming to the firm in 1967, I have developed a broad practice in the field of water law and have successfully defended local government units charged with violations of the Clean Water Act, such as is in the case of United States v. Sargent County Water Resource District, 876 F. Supp. 1090 (D.N.D. 1994).”

“My practice also includes the pursuit, in both state and federal courts, of just compensation for people who have suffered serious injuries. I am particularly proud of having convinced the United States Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in the case of Kenna v. So-Fro Fabrics, Inc., 18 F.3d 625 (8th Cir. 1994), to apply the much more favorable law of North Dakota to a serious injury occurring in the State of Minnesota.”

Duane Breitling is an experienced personal injury attorney and family law attorney.

Duane and Mary Jane live in West Fargo. They enjoy traveling to visit with their children and grandchildren.

He is also a member of the North Dakota State Bar Association, the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce and the F-M Chamber of Commerce. Duane retired on December 31, 2008.
