Katie J. Bertsch was born and raised in Rochert, Minnesota. She attended Bemidji State University for undergraduate studies and received a degree in Criminal Justice, graduating with honors. She graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law, with distinction, in 2011.
Prior to joining Ohnstad Twichell, Katie served as a law clerk for the judges of the Northwest Judicial District of North Dakota, for Judge Shon Hastings at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of North Dakota, and for Judge Kermit E. Bye of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Katie practices in the West Fargo office and is licensed to practice law in North Dakota and Minnesota. She concentrates her practice in the areas of litigation, municipal law, municipal bond law, and bankruptcy/financial restructuring.
Undergraduate: Bemidji State University, B.S. awarded May 2008 in criminal justice and fraud examination (graduated Summa Cum Laude)
Law School: University of North Dakota School of Law, J.D. awarded May 2011
Katie was named a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers during law school, and thereafter, served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Shon Hastings with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of North Dakota and for Judge Kermit E. Bye with the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
